SISU Tree Care FAQ

FAQs

Does your company clean up after the tree removal?

Absolutely. Included in your quote will be options for complete on-site chipping and removal service. Some of our clients prefer to keep chips or mulch for their garden needs, and we adjust our quotes to match the services required.

I heard your company is on call 24-7 for rescuing cats. Is this true?

Yes, rescuing cats is one of the community services that the SISU team is happy to offer. Donations for the rescue of your feline friend will be passed on to the Okanagan Humane Society.

When is the best time to have my trees pruned?

When it comes to pruning, the most important thing is to prune trees regularly (at least once a year) and not wait until it’s overdue. Pruning schedules depend on the species and the area you live, but deadwooding, broken branch removal, and light pruning can be done anytime. Since all trees and situations are different, the SISU Team will assess your trees and property for you and get a schedule set up for your tree care.

Will I need permits for tree removal?

Depending on the jurisdiction that you live in, tree removal does often require permitting in advance. The SISU team can help you with this process.

Does your company do property management too?

Yes! We are happy to work with you on a plan for regularly scheduled residential, stratas, and commercial property maintenance visits.  Take the hassle out of your summer and let SISU Tree Care take care of your lawn and gardens.

Why do I need a professional to prune my trees?

Inexperienced pruning, or pruning at the wrong time of year, can cause irreparable damage to your trees. SISU has ISA-certified arborists and we are a safety-focused company. We will ensure your trees are properly trimmed and maintained so they can offer many years of reward to your property.

Will you come to my property and give me an estimate first?

Yes. We will come at no expense to evaluate your needs first. We do free estimates for every service that we offer.

Can SISU Tree Care set me up with a yearly maintenance program for my trees and property?

Absolutely! Call us today to have a SISU team member set up a personalized plan for your trees—or your entire property.

What is meant by a Xeriscape?

Xeriscape landscaping, often called xeriscaping, is replacing sod lawns or maintenance -heavy gardens with alternative products that promote little to no need for an irrigation system. In the Okanagan, where our summers are hot and there may be limitations on water, this means having a beautiful yard that won’t dry up during the hottest months of the year. Combined with a smart irrigation system that conserves water, xeriscaping is a great alternative to traditional lawn or gardens.
